Butler Center for Research
The Butler Center for Research at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation strives to support sustained recovery from the disease of addiction for all who seek help by:
- Advancing knowledge about addiction, treatment and recovery
- Integrating addiction treatment research into practice
While science confirms the effectiveness of addiction treatment, the internal and external processes that produce change remain relatively unknown. The more we can objectively describe and measure processes and indicators of change, the better we can target addiction treatment efforts, improve patient outcomes, and advance the addiction recovery field.
As a part of our scientific inquiry, the Butler Center for Research conducts research studies involving patient populations at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. These studies are designed to help identify the mechanisms underlying effective treatment for drug and alcohol problems.
